Stuart Morris studied Art and Design at Leeds and Leicester. Early in his career he left lecturing to
concentrate on his own work.
Working in dramatic and atmospheric environments Stuart paints on wood rock and sand. Forms evolve and emerge with the use of colours, intensified by the ever changing backdrop of land, sea, sky and sun. Timeless marks held in the brilliance of the changing universe. A mysterious act of intuitive understanding and self belief.
Sequential photographs are used to make the subsequent photo collages. Time and movement stand still. Colour embraces the landscape. Mysteries are unveiled. The self is at rest.

Forms, themes and decoration combine to produce the powerful canvases. Abstract, with symbolic and organic content, they construct imaginary landscapes, inhabited by mystery and alive with a primitive resonance.
Often huge in scale, these pieces will transform any interior.

in Bonn, Cologne, Edinburgh and London.
Stuart works from
a converted chapel, The Rose Chapel Studio, in Hadleigh, Suffolk.
There, he combines a successful design business with
his own art.
